Here are the top stories for the week of Sept. 4.

The Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights investigation of three sexual assault cases, the OCR has found that of the three, two were mishandled, and the third case has been closed.

Timeliness was a major factor in the ruling, where MSU was found not to have acted quickly enough to resolve ongoing cases. They were also found to not document the cases properly and the MSU had not recognized cases where its own findings were enough to prove sexual assault.

An ordinance approved at Tuesday night's city council meeting repealed a portion of the city code dealing with handbills and bill posting that had been the subject of controversy at the Great Lakes Folk Fest in early August.

Tonight at 7 p.m. MSU will play an away game against the Western Michigan University Broncos in the opening game of the season.

Head coach Mark Dantonio released his updated roster, which included sophomores Jon Reschke and Chris Frey as co-starters on the depth chart after Ed Davis was lost to a season-ending injury.

Earlier this week a hype video was released that as of 3:00 on Friday has above 82,000 views on Youtube.
